"The following song was written on July 19th in response to the situation of the refugees locked up at Woomera and other detention centres around Australia.

We recorded it at Bruce Haymes' place in Northcote with Bruce playing piano on August 3rd.

The days are getting colder
They stretch before me all in a line
Each night gets a little bit longer
And these stars that once were strange now I call mine

And I just can’t find my way out of this place
I took the law into my hands

But the punishment here is much worse than the crime
